FAQ

Is there an appeals process if I do not pass Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) measure-applicability validation (MAV) tests?

Eligible professionals (EPs) and group practices can request an informal review of their PQRS data, which may include questioning the results of MAV analysis. The individual EP will need to request his or her own informal review for the individual National Provider Identifier (NPI) for each Tax Identification Number (TIN) under which (s)he submitted PQRS data. Each year, CMS determines a time period during which informal review requests may be submitted, and will communicate this information via the usual CMS channels (PQRS listserv, PQRS website, weekly provider eNews, etc.).

After the EP submits a valid PQRS informal review request, CMS (via the QualityNet Help Desk) will perform an internal review of the data and will email the EP a summary of his or her results.

For additional questions, please contact the QualityNet Help Desk at 1-866-288-8912 (TTY 1-877-715-6222) or via email to Qnetsupport@hcqis.org. They are available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.
